Statement by ICC President Ehsan Mani regarding the South Africa tour to Pakistan

ICC Media Release

The United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) has advised me of its decision not to proceed with its scheduled tour of Pakistan at this time following a recent bomb blast in Karachi and its concerns over the safety of its players.

I have and will continue to be speaking with both the President of the UCB, Mr Ray Mali, and the President of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Lt Gen Tauqir Zia, about this situation.

Over the coming days the ICC will be working with both the UCB and the PCB to explore all available alternatives to see if it is possible to reschedule the tour and the program of matches in Pakistan in the near future.
