Taunton has been in the midst of Cricket World Cup excitement this week, as the #CWCTrophyTour, driven by Nissan, visited the area; going on display in the town centre as well as making stops in local schools.
The mural, which is placed outside The Wickets Café in Taunton town centre, will be up for a limited time and will give one lucky fan the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to Australia and Pakistan's clash at the County Ground Taunton during CWC19. To be in with a chance of winning, entrants must share a picture of the mural across Twitter or Instagram using #CWC19Taunton. The lucky winner will be contacted by a Cricket World Cup representative.
England legend Marcus Trescothick, who attended the mural launch, said: “It was great to see the World Cup trophy here this week, and now I am sure that the mural will continue the hype and excitement in Taunton. Somerset is such a keen cricketing county that I know there will be plenty of interest in this, especially as the prize is to see Australia v Pakistan!
“The tournament provides a great opportunity to showcase Taunton as a fantastic host for global cricket events,” added Trescothick, who played at the 2003 World Cup.
“The tournament is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for local people to be part of one of the world’s biggest sporting events, which is hugely exciting.”
The UK element of the ‘Wickets’ campaign is running alongside #WorldwideWickets, which has seen fans from around the globe share pictures and videos of where and how they play cricket across the world.
