Qualification scenarios: Who is best placed to make the semis at U19 Women's T20 World Cup?
Which teams make the semi-finals?
The top two teams from each Super Six group make the semi-finals. The top side in each group takes on the runners-up from the other group in the semi-finals as is the norm.
So, the team to top Group 1 will take on the second-placed team in Group 2, with the runners-up in Group 1 playing the Group 2 table-topper.
If teams finish on equal points in the Super Six groups, the teams to progress to the semi-finals will be decided by "the greatest number of wins in its Super Six Group" i.e. the number of wins across both Group Stage and Super Six matches that have been counted in the Super Six table.
It is to be noted that not all points were carried into the Super Six. Points earned in matches involving the fourth-place finisher in each First Round group were not carried over to the Super Six stage.
Group 1
How they entered the Super Six
India and Bangladesh started the Super Six stage with four points apiece with Australia and South Africa on two points each. Since then, India lost to Australia and beat Sri Lanka while South Africa beat Bangladesh and edged Sri Lanka, giving the group a different look. Australia dominated over UAE to nearly put their foot in the semi-finals.
Current scenario
India and Australia are currently top of the table with six points each and should both make the semi-finals. Both have completed their round of games at the Super Six stage, where each team plays two other teams.
Bangladesh have one more match and are on four points while South Africa, despite a thrilling one-run win over Sri Lanka in their final game, are knocked out. Bangladesh can go level with India, Australia and South Africa with six points if they beat UAE on Wednesday, but will need to significantly boost their net run rate to beat Australia and India in the race for the semis.
Remaining fixtures
Bangladesh have their remaining fixture against UAE on Wednesday.
Group 2
How they entered the Super Six
England and New Zealand carried forward four points from the group stage to the Super Six phase while Pakistan and West Indies had two points apiece.
Current scenario
New Zealand and England have booked their spot in the semi-finals of the tournament thanks to the Kiwis' win over Pakistan.
England can top the group and play second in the Group 1 in their semi-final (likely Australia) should they defeat the West Indies in the final Group 2 game.
Remaining fixtures
England play the West Indies.
